A statutory body that promotes growth the of production / processing / marketing of Tanzania cotton.
The TCB promotes good farming methods and increases in the production of cotton through farmers education; establishes quality standards of cotton seed/lint; determines the quantity of cotton seed to be kept for planting; licenses buyers of seed cotton, exporters of cotton lint, gin operators; protects the interests of farmers against buyers’ syndicates; formulates regulations for cotton cultivation, marketing, processing, importation, exportation and storage of cotton seed/lint; licenses organic growing coordinators.
The TCB has established the Textile Sector Development Unit to further develop Tanzania’s textile/apparel manufacturing industry using Tanzania cotton.
